I bought this little anthology with my own money so can only blame myself for reading and reviewing it. 😉
What a wonderful little book of short stories and other funnies. It’s been almost a week since I finished it and still giggle over the Facebook conversations at the end of the book. 😀
This is a compilation of existing work by Katie MacAlister, plus a couple of short stories. Some of it I’d read before (being a fan and owning a lot of her books) but over half was new to me and so sated my desire for a bit of her Otherworld madness.
That and the story ‘Cat got your tongue’ just makes me want to read more of the Dark Ones series so, all in all, I feel this book has done what it set out to do.
And what did it set out to do? Entertain, entice the reader to read more by Ms MacAlister and give you a few good old laugh out loud moment.
Would I recommend this book to others?
Yes I would. And not just to fans of Ms MacAlister. I would recommend it to anyone interested in a little tasting platter for her work if they’ve never read it before. It is a good blend of all her best supernatural series and Jim… what can I say about good old Effrijim? Actually, he often makes me speechless as I just don’t know where to start. So maybe this book is a good way to start? 😉
Would I buy this book for myself?
Been there, done that, got the t-shirt and have no regrets. Great little eBook and very affordable – another good reason to go and buy it yourself.
In summary: A fantastic mix of short stories and other snippets from the mind of the Talented Ms MacAlister. Definitely something not just for her fans (like me), but for those interested in trying her books out for the first time. I highly recommend!
